It's that time of year again! Don't you love the fall, I do! The air is crisp and cool. The colors seem to transform daily. How many of you love a turkey or ham dinner with all of the trimmings? I have been blessed beyond my needs, and have always had too much to eat on Thankgiving. I usually have to relax after eating more than I should. It's not that way for everyone. As wealthy as we are in this country, there are still many in Sumter that struggle to put food on the table, let alone a feast. HELP US PROVIDE A FEAST FOR A NEIGHBOR! (If you want to know who your neighbor is, open your Bible and read Luke 10:29-37). We hope to put 150 boxes with all the items to cook a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. The support has been tremendous so far. We have ALMOST all of our items sponsored (click on turkey above to see needs), and we will still need turkeys and hams. Important dates: 11/21/08 All donated items must be in Ministry building before 12:00noon. 11/24/08 We need volunteers from 1:00 pm until boxes are assembled. (+/- 1 hour) 11/25/08 We need your help to put the boxes into the clients cars as they come to pick them up. That will be done between 9:30am-11:00am and then from 11:30am-12:30pm.Call us if you would like to help. 775-0757 Ask for Susan Cox, Anne Abbott, or Emilie Edmunds. |
