“I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I
said, “Here am I send me!” Isaiah 6:8

UMSC welcomes anyone who has a desire to serve the needy to help with one or
more of the following:

Prayer: Pray for God’s people in need in our community, for those volunteers who work
with clients that are hurting day after day in the UMSC office.

Material needs: Donate expendable office supplies such as stamps, manila folders,
copy paper, the use of an office copier. Non perishable food items, frozen meat and
bread, snack type items for the homeless, and disposable diapers are some of the
items we need monthly.  All types of furniture and appliances.

Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to staff the office four mornings a week. These
people act as receptionists or interviewers. Some weeks we have in excess of 130
people come through our doors. At least 5 volunteers are needed daily from 8:30 am to
1:00 pm. We also like to keep a list of people willing to do electrical, plumbing, carpentry
repair work, or build handicapped ramps on a volunteer basis (supplies and materials
will be provided). We need people to pick up donated furniture and transport it to our
building. See                page for more information, including a bulletin insert.

Financial support: Contributions are always appreciated and needed. UMSC will
acknowledge gifts made in memory or in honor of family or friends. UMSC is a non-profit
501(c)(3) charity. Your gifts are tax deductible within federal tax guidelines. Your gift can
be mailed to UMSC, PO Box 1017, Sumter 29151-1017.
Thank you!
